Privacy and personal data
How Second Life Furniture uses your information and how to exercise your rights.
Who handles your data?
Saônoise de Mobiliers is the controller for Second Life Furniture data. The form below lets you contact the team about your personal data, even if you no longer have your request reference.
What information is collected?
The take-back form collects your name, email and phone number, site addresses and access details, equipment, quantities, comments and photographs. Contact details and required fields are needed to handle the request; without them, it cannot be submitted. Comments and photographs are optional: avoid including people, private documents or sensitive information. Technical logs may contain connection information needed to secure the service.
Why is this information used?
Information is used to review your take-back or donation proposal, contact you, arrange an agreed handover and follow up. Steps taken at your request towards an agreement rely on pre-contractual measures; statutory take-back duties and data rights requests rely on the applicable legal obligations. Technical security relies on the legitimate interest in protecting the website. Accepting the general terms does not constitute consent to marketing.
Who may receive your information?
Authorised Saônoise de Mobiliers staff and providers needed for hosting, email and collection may receive information required for their tasks. Mailjet sends confirmations and take-back summaries; internal summaries may include contact details, comments and photos. Address autocomplete sends the text entered to the IGN geocoding service. Contact the team through this form for information about processing locations and safeguards applicable to providers.
How long is information kept?
Retention is determined by the needs of handling and following up the take-back, followed by legal obligations and the need to preserve evidence for disputes. Erasure requests are assessed against these criteria: information that must still be retained is not automatically deleted. The team can explain the periods applicable to your case.
Cookies and drafts on your device
The website uses mechanisms needed for sessions and form protection. The take-back form also stores a draft in your browser: fields in session storage and photographs in IndexedDB. Successful submission clears this draft. Server-side erasure does not delete local browser copies; you can clear these using your browser’s site settings.
Your rights: access, correction and erasure
You may request access, correction, erasure or restriction of your data, and object or request portability where applicable. You may also propose anonymisation: remaining information must no longer identify you, including through cross-referencing. Your request is reviewed; retention obligations or the defence of legal claims may limit erasure. You must receive a response within one month; an extension of two months is possible depending on complexity or request volumes, with notice during the first month. Proportionate verification may be requested where there are reasonable doubts about your identity.

Exercise my personal data rights
Preferably use the email from your take-back request. The reference helps locate it but is optional. The team reviews your request and verifies the requester. For erasure, personal contact details are anonymised after approval; the establishment’s request and furniture data are retained. Any personal information in comments or photographs is handled during that review.
